The Simple Radon Test

Radon tests come in 2 types, active and passive.   (Please visit Radon Kits who created this video.) The passive type is the simplest.  A device is left in an appropriate place in the home and collects radon or is affected by the gamma release from the radon. The device is left there for a specific amount of time as per the test instructions. Once the test is complete, the device is sealed in an envelope and sent to a lab for analysis. The lab then reports the radon level based on its analysis of the test sample.

Please see this article from “How Stuff Works” that offers a great visual explanation of the passive test kits available.
